The AcuGraph Digital Meridian Imaging system is a computerized tool used to analyze and document the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. We use the system in a short examination of acupressure points on your hands and feet.
How AcuGraph Works
Your acupuncturist will conduct a simple, 2-minute exam, during which they’ll measure electrical skin resistance at acupuncture source points. From the data, AcuGraph creates a straightforward graphical representation of your meridian energies (chi).
Using the graph, you can see exactly what’s wrong in a way that you will understand. As an added bonus, your acupuncturist gives you treatment insight and suggestions that you can add into your treatment workflow to help balance your graph. Over time, AcuGraph demonstrates how your acupuncture treatments are helping, and provides proof of results.
What are Acupuncture Meridians?
Acupuncture meridians are invisible energy pathways in your body that have been used therapeutically for over 5000 years. These meridians conduct life-force energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”) in and around all the parts of your body.
Blockage or interference in these meridian pathways can result in energetic imbalances that may contribute to negative health conditions. The primary goal of acupuncture is to restore energetic balance and proper energy flow to these meridians, thus allowing your body to function normally.

What does my P.I.E. score mean?
With the P.I.E. (Personal Integrated Energetics) chart, each line represents one meridian pathway.
It shows which meridians are balanced / functioning properly and which have imbalances. A perfect score of 100 reflects complete balance and unimpeded flow of your Qi energy. A lower score means there are various imbalances that you and Holistic Alternatives should address together.
